No ticket, no warning, just wanted to let me know. I thanked him, and meant it sincerely. Guy did his job and was friendly about it.
(I really need to change that brake light.  )

Florida just changed the law that you need to renew BEFORE your birthday instead of the last day of your birth month. I didn't get the memo so there I am on the side of the road @ 2 A.M. getting the message in person. Then the officer asks me for my insurance and registration.
That's always fun because it's in the glove box right under the Colt .45 auto. I tell the officer it's in there (Legal carry in Florida. God bless America), he clears me to open the glove box take the .45 out and get the paperwork.
I've got probably 4 or 5 past registration cards for the vehicle but not the current one. I have 4 or 5 past insurance cards for the vehicle but not the current one.
I look at the officer and say, "Well, it appears that I'm a serious wrong doer and public enemy. Where do we go from here?" to which he replies, "You go home and get your plate renewed in the morning. Have a good night." |
