Today's Quiz

ok, here is one for you...let's see who can answer (no cheating and looking it up in Wikipedia or some such....)

the following is a quote from Swinburne's GARDEN OF PROSERPINE:

That no life lives forever
That dead men rise up never
and even the weariest river
winds somewhere safe to sea

Now the quiz: what movie was this phrase quoted in and who was the star.

(i don't know, it MAY have been quoted in more than one movie, BUT to receive full credit, you must read my mind and reference the one I am thinking of)

I googled it (wasn't going to answer) and still couldn't find it. I like the poem though.

I had to use google just to find out that Swinburne is the name of a poet, not a band. (I thought it was Swine-burn ... sounds like a metal band IMHO)

It's quoted in the "Series of Unfortunate Events" books, but I'm not sure if it was done in the movie or not.

I was doing the obligatory watching of "Groundhog Day" today, and it hit a point where Rita begins quoting poetry back to Phil Conners, and I scream "Ah-ha!!" and jumped and ran to my computer to re-read you're piece quoted above.

Then I realized it was not the same piece of poetry, then had to explain to everyone else in the room what was going on.

Have to watch that one again. I remember him shooting through a washer without so much as a scratch, but I don't remember the quote.
