Trilogy Of Terror
Jaws
Star Wars
Animal House
Fast Times At Ridgemont High

// gonna have to go ahead and add New Wave Hookers, 'cause that one was a life changer for sure.

I'm not so sure what exactly the level of life changing impact those movies made, but they were all certainly influential in one way or another.

...although I find it hard to say that a movie "changed" my life. Maybe gave me an insight or two, but nothing dramatic.

Here's my top 5 faves

Star Wars
The Dead Poet's Society
The Kids Are Alright
Lord of the Rings
2001: A Space Odyssey

All terrific films, but I can safely say only the first 3 'changed' my life.

How exactly did the 5th Element change your life? Did you get a new haircut?

The Commitments
The Doors
Backbeat-A flick about the early Beatles and Lennon and Stu Sutcliff

Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy - original BBC version
The Life of Brian - Monty Python
The Meaning of Life - Monty Python
2001 A Space Odyssey
Blade Runner

While all of these movies changed my attitude about life to a certain extent, only The Life of Brian actually changed my life. The fact that I was a fan of the movie cost me a girlfriend in college. Her father was a minister and proclaimed the movie to be blasphemous. I told my girlfriend my opinion of her father's pronouncement. End of girlfriend.

uh, I don't think I've ever seen a movie that has changed my life. I'll post one later if I remember a particularly monolithic film of prodigous philosophical revelation.

I've had a think about this, and whilst I'm a big movie fan (most of my TV viewing is movies) and have lots of favourite films, I'm having a hard time naming even one that actually "changed my life" in the way I think is meant here.

Life-changing books, yeah. Movies? No, not for me. I'm open to suggestions, though.

Return of the Jedi (this and the others but mainly this one)
Labyrinth (it's very surreal)
Aliens (my parents let me watch this when I was about 10, I was sooo scared for weeks afterwards)
Terminator
Blair Witch Project (not scary but I liked it for the creepy woods, I like creepy woods)

also just about every hit comedy/action movie from the 80's - the goonies/the lost boys/ghost busters/back to the future, 16 candles etc..too many to list - they all changed me a lot, they really did.
