He was clearly slapping and popping in the video footage and there was no mike on the speaker so the recorded sound would have been terrible if they were actually taping what he was playing.
That's not to say he can't play, but it was clearly overdubbed in that video.

They probably shot all the band and food scenes with a single camera.
