My girl and I have a favorite Mexican restaurant in Park Slope Brooklyn that we go to once or twice a month. They're super friendly, know our order and put it in when we walk in the door, always have a smile for us, and give us an occassional free dessert. They don't do it cuz we're big spenders either. We dont' drink, and our bill is always the same, 28 bucks and change. Tonight we ate there and when they gave us our check it had an envelope with a card inside that said, "To a beautiful couple," along with a gift certificate for $30.

I've worked in NYC for over 10 years and I have to say that the people I meet in NYC are far nicer and much more friendly than the people where I live in northeastern NJ.

-Mike | The best part is that they always had it anyhow. No need to do that.
And I'm not a huge tipper. Maybe a dollar more that the standard 20% because they always treat us so well. |

Plus they just bend over backwards for us. It's called "value added service" and keeps me coming back.

You can always tell the genuineness of a gift when it is given with no expectations of one in return. They knew you already eat there quite a bit, so it wasn't a tease or lure to get you to come in more often.
Make sure you post a review of how great the place is on a websitew like yelp or urbanspoon, etc.

Me and my gal always get the combo #7, a veggie quesidlilla, and super nachos then split it all. We're vegatarian though, so ya might want something different. |
