Good luck with the transfer and continued success in school.

Transferring from community college to four-year colleges may be easy if both schools are part of the same system. For example, transferring from Hawaii community colleges to the University of Hawaii (Manoa or Hilo campus) is pretty much automatic, because the University President mandated that all Hawaii State campuses be part of one system (that was not always the case). Your academic counselor should be able to give you the information you need concerning your particular transfer.

The biggest problem usually stems from mismatched course numbers. If the two campuses use the same course numbers and descriptions, (aside from remedial courses) then the transfer process should go smoothly. You should not lose any credits.

i wish it was the case but my first choice of four-year college is a private university. i asked an academic adviser and they said they would accept 60 credits or all of my gen eds if i complete an associates degree.

so far i am having issues with requesting a transcript. the community college wants me to take it and drop it in the mail. the other college wont accept it as an official transcript if i at any time handle the document.

oh well, i need a break from the process today perhaps some bass playing will help me calm down.

Your community college should know better. Any reputable university won't accept any transcript that isn't straight from the school it's coming from.

incompetence has been a consistency on the administrative side of my community college. part of why i will be glad when i am finally done with them. it took me an extra year and a half because academic advisement insisted that i take classes irrelevant to my major. i will take credit for changing majors though, but if i had planned my schedule myself i would have been finished long ago.
