I love first-person-shooter games (though i'm quite non-violent in real-life).
Ive played games on my mac for years and was wondering about moving to a console. XBOX 360 perhaps.
To the kids brought up on nintendo and PS this will sound wierd, but Im a forty something guy and I'm not to sure about the move to the console hand control. I'm pretty handy with the mouse/keyboard control on the pc platform...how hard is it to adapt to the controller?
Please share your experiences |

Playing with analog sticks is kind of fun, and you'll probably come to appreciate the extra control that using a stick instead of WASD gives you. Aiming with a stick is completely silly. It will never be fast or accurate like a mouse. It's too bad none of the console makers have thought to throw a trackball on the controller. That would be a great setup.

It sounds like a major downgrade to me. |

But really, I think it has it's advantages and disadvantages. I will say I like pulling the right trigger more than I like clicking a mouse button, but aiming with a stick with take some adjusting.

Yet! | | Join Date: Dec 2006 Location: Cincinnati, Ohio | | the bad thing about FPS on console also is the whole button layout, I don't understand why the video game companies think you should have 4-6 buttons plus a joystick for your thumb to hit, two for two other fingers and none for the rest... I have seen one company that had the right idea, but the build quality was **** so they quit making the controllers... http://www.llamma.com/xbox/Reviews/f...controller.htm
pure genius
so I guess you can still get them around, I found one selling for $4 lol
might get it just to try it for myself

Most newer video cards can handle it. All you need is a cable with a DVI plug on one end and an HDMI on the other. |
