Traveling (Aus TB'ers up north especially)

Heading up to Byron in a couple weeks if there's any TB'ers up that way who wanna catch up for a beer or show me the ropes (especially local music).

Don't know how long i'll be up there for (booked a return about 2 1/2 weeks later, whether I take it or not we'll see) and planning to backpack it.

Any cool places I should see whilst up there (despite beach)? Love mountains/climbing as well as any sort of travel.

Might also head up further north so if anyone is further up let me know.
