So, here is a question that bothers me, but I've never heard it asked. What happens when the interest payment alone on that debt exceeds revenues? For example: the government had to pay 451 billion in interest last year. Tax revenues were only 1.5 trillion. With the increased spending now it may get to a point in the future were all the government can do is pay the interest.
