While surfing Talkbass McAfee detected and removed a trojan that came from this site.

The administrators should look into this.

Unless TB has been hacked along the way somewhere, it is probably coming from the code used to generate a banner ad.

Should be checked out though.

I had the same thing happen last night, but I had more than just TB open in my browser and assumed it was the other site. Mine was flagged as being "JS/Redirector" - what was yours? Has anyone else seen this?

I'll bring this up with the admins - thanks!

we've already had complaints about this kind of thing.

please post all information in this thread:

TalkBass PC Threat?

including whatever thread you were looking at or trying to look at when you got the warning.

in the past i've come across links to pictures hosted on other sites posted in old threads, where the original site might have gone down and gotten taken over by a cyber-squatter. talkbass still tries to access the picture, hitting the site, and causing the virus scanners to recognize problems.

that being said, all of us, including paul, are looking into this.

If it was while surfing, I bet it was one of Maki's old trojans. Gross.

You aren't the only one that's been experiencing a slow Talkbass.

For whatever reason it's very slow for me.

this sort of thing happens almost every day now. I'll start documenting the incidents from now on.

Look people, you're making this way harder than it needs to be. There is a simple solution..........just uninstall your anti-virus and you won't be bothered with those pesky warnings.

Some out-of-date virus detection systems are reporting Google Adsense's javascript code as a 'trojan'. It's a 'false positive', as Google Adsense is harmless. We use Google Adsense ( http://pagead2.googlesyndication.com...s.js//show_ads) on TalkBass as do many, many, many other sites on the internet.

Probably what happened in my case - MS Security Essentials flagged the risk, but after that nothing showed up in a scan or in a Malwarebites followup.
