Truth in advertising?

This is from a description of Carvin Molded Speakers--

"The enclosure is made of molded polypropylene, and won't chip or crack. "

This is from a Carvin B stock molded speaker listed on ebay--

"This item is blemished and may have some scratches, dents, or dings (not major). On of the speakers does have a little crack on the top right corner (not major)."

It would be nice to see the 'blemishes', if your using them on the circuit they'll probably pick up a few little knocks? I don't know what the price is like for these but, 1 year warranty, 10 day trial, sounds fair enough to me. See if you can message them for more pic's/info on your concerns.

Well, he did say the enclosure won't chip or crack, but the speaker does have a crack.

I kinda doubt it, though.

I have some of their molded PA monitors. The enclosure is polypropylene. I'm surprised that it cracked. I suppose it could crack if it was cold enough or it was hit just in the right way extremely hard, but I thought it would be more likely that it'll dent or crumple.

In any event, they're made very well, and very tough. Maybe this ad goes in that 'craigslist unabated idiocy' thread in the Humor section...

BTW, if this ad's for the enclosed PA system and you're looking into it, check to see when they redesigned the XLR input. The ones from a couple of years ago had problems with the cables getting stuck in them, and it was nearly impossible to get them out. I bought two about 3 years ago, but didn't use them but two or three times in the following year. Last year, we had a bunch of gigs with a bigger set-up, so I got two more. The old ones both stuck, and we were forced to use a 25' cable in one for several gigs.

If you have a Carvin store nearby, they'll replace that for free, but I don't know about it if you can't show that you're the original owner...
