Lol, I dig the idea. I can't say it will do anything major to change the way that the TSA operates but it's something and it shows that there are at least some people who want to stand against the policies that this organization has in place, many of which that do very little to increase security or safety.

You're thoughts TB?

It is a dick-move but I like it. I guess the only part of me that disagrees with me is the fact that so much of their life is probably not being a TSA agent, I'm sure some of them are Vets/Reservists.

Outstanding, I will be sure to frequent there every time I fly!!!!!!!

No worries Martin89, The TSA won't hire vets or reserves, besides the reserves are all in Iraq, Aphganastan, Pakistan, etc........

How is this going to accomplish anything other than pissing off the guys at the bottom end of the policy-making totem pole?

It helps by making a statement, plain and simple. If more people did the same, it would actually have an effect.

TSA agents are just trying to get a stable job in a shakey economy. I'm sure a very small percentage of them actually like their job. Most of them probably hate it but stick with it for the pay and government benefits. I appriciate the statement the business is trying to make, but being dicks to the agents isn't going to get the message to those who write and require the polices the agents have to uphold. All the cafe is doing is looking like a bunch of ignorant D-bags. Being from Washington state, I have checked into that airport at least 30 times. I was always treated politely and with respect by the TSA agents. Same as any airport I have traveled through. I think it's a distasteful and pointless statement.

When I paid off John Turner with ERBs a few minutes back.

This does belong in OT, and that said most people who willingly take a government theft-and-extortion funded salary I have my own reservations of dealing with...

+1 I've never had any problems either. I can't tell you how many jack*** fliers I've seen though. Can't be an easy job dealing with that many peeps all day just to try and get something to drink and get kicked out because of the job they happen to hold today.

This is OT, but bass players have to live in the world too. I really don't understand people who don't learn from history. To argue that the TSA employees are just trying to make a living, is like arguing that all the Nazi SS officers were really great family men "just following orders". Music, ladies and gentlemen, should not be morally neutral. When you are given the choice between molestation or dangerous radiation [there is NO "safe" dose of x-rays, bunky]. Where not only you but your wife and kids of any age or sex or even your grandmother must agree to be stripped naked as the "price" of using public transportation, I don't think a simple excuse of "just making a living" is good enough.

This should be so obvious I'll say no more, but instead of defending the minions of fascism, I'd suggest you all should be asking what is the best bass for a "protest song".

++, my friend who spent time in LA and I had a running joke talking about how we should watch out for those thugs with guns all over the place... and don't forget about the gangsters and criminals too.

Anything that can make the life of a TSA agent unpleasant has my total support. I travel the world, on business, and have to say that dealing with that experience sours my trips to the states. It does nothing more than irritate people. Nothing more. False sense of security. Big sense of self importance.

TSA = Thousands Standing Around

Godwin's Law by the 15th post! That's got to be close to a record...

And because of the complete ridiculousness in comparisons I don't think a rebuttal is even necessary.

Comparing TSA to Nazi Germany. I'm sure if he lived in Nazi occupied territory during the late 30's, TSA wouldn't seem so bad.

If you hate TSA so bad, ride a bus and quit whining. You have other options to flying. If you want the covenience of air travel, then jump through the hoops of their dog and pony show. If you don't want to jump through the hoops, find another way to get where you're going. Last I checked, TSA doesn't do pat-downs at interstate rest stops.

As a frequent flyer this sounds ok. But shouldn't this be in OFF TOPIC.

Because, what the heck does it have to do with playing bass or bass related info. Thanks again, but really, please don't make this like HC. Its called TalkBass for a reason and that's what we should be talking about, keep the politricks for somewhere else. THX
