Where will you be on Thanksgiving?

We're packing up the family and car for an 8-9 hour drive to my bro-in-law's house. We looked into flying, but the cost was ridiculous, and with a lay-over, it would only save us an hour of travel time (if that). Although a long car ride isn't my favorite adventure, trying to wrangle my easily-irritated wife and an obstreperous 4-year-old through a couple of airports makes it the lesser of the available evils.

At my parents's house, with my family, only 10 minutes from my house. Just want to watch football, relax, hang out with my kids.........keep it low key.

I'm even gig-free for the holiday weekend, and I'm thinking I'm ready for the time off.

Going to my girlfriend's and having dinner with her family. Always a ton of food and too many desserts.
Didn't even take any gigs, so I can have a nice relaxing weekend.

Andy

EDIT: About a two and a half hour drive

Going to her folks, both sides, one for lunch the other for dinner. Making up for it with a black friday gig. Sounds like a fair trade to me.

Right at home, hoping a Party of Five marathon comes on somewhere.

I'll head out for a few hours to play some football with the guys I grew up with and our kids. We always play the "old versus young" game on Thanksgiving. The cut off age is 25 for the young guys.

Then I gotta get home and rest up for Black Friday.

Taking the T to South Station, then hopping on a 2 hour bus ride to Maine.

Going to the Out-laws place on Thursday, that's about 30 miles or so. Saturday we're doing my family about 3 miles from my house. My parents had six kids, and they all live relatively close, so we all get together for Thanksgiving, but to avoid conflicts with spouses families, we do it a couple days later. Sure beats the heck out of eating twice on Thanksgiving day proper.

Sounds like a reasonable and sane plan. It also gives you a couple of days to recover and get ready for another round of post-feast napping.

Staying home. My day after is swamped. I'm still figuring out what I want to fix for Thanksgiving Day-I might end up going over to a friend's house to drink with them.

This is the first one where I'm not with my family at all-so I might do a less traditional meal.

I'm also using it as a day to get ahead on my homework and practice a lot.
