Unfortunately, I'm not familiar with his career, as I am not a football fan. But the name does ring a bell.
But still, RIP Mr. Meredith.

I remember him for the Nestea Plunge. I used to practice that in the pool all the time. I have insecurity issues so I could never just freefall backwards like that.

IMO this was the best sports broadcasting team ever. MNF had life because of the contrasting personalities. Don was a character. Football is a game. It should be fun, and he knew that.

When they went with Michaels, Gifford and Dierdorf they were all so serious you would think it was championship chess.

They could never re-create that original magic and eventually, well...

I agree - far and away the best team...and Meredith really made it. He was down to earth, amusing and clever. A real "guy" who made listening and watching fun.

One of my favorite broadcasters - he is missed.

He was funny, entertaining, and quick. A classic Meredith moment was when the camera zoomed in on a fan sleeping in the stands. About that time, the fan opened his eyes and flipped the bird to the camera.

Without missing a beat, Meredith says, "That's right buddy, you're #1..."
