Is anyone into TV/Film production jobs? I'm currently a TV production student in high school, and I've been on various shoots in my day. Good stuff.

I used to work in production, "Desperately Seeking Susan", on a Rodger Corman film "Streetwalking" and turned down a position on Troma's "Toxic Avenger". I also worked for MTV News for a few years. 20 years ago I switched to post-production. I've been at NFL Films for about 15 years.

NFL FILMS?! HOLY CRAP! That's awesome, how'd you land that job?

My buddy's son is a segment producer/cameraman for "Pink Sneakers", ie. Hogan Knows Best, Brooke Knows Best, Redneck Weddings, Pimp My Trailer, etc.

Full Sail in Orlando, is where he went to film school

Anyone have experience with Columbia College in Chicago? I'm interested in that place.

I too would like to hear about everyone's experiences and such. I'm in a similar position. Right now I'm thinking about trying to get into UCF's film program, since it's pretty exclusive.

Any tips for starting out in the industry?

Getting yourself related to somebody in the business seems to work best.
Failing that, recomendations, internships, networking and persistence are a good way to get in.

My brother wife produces the local news in Hartford, CT. For Fox I think.
