Twilight Zone Marathon

Sign in to disble this ad
Well, New Years Eve comes again, and you all know what that means: Twilight Zone marathon on the Sci-Fi channel!

Anyone else make it a yearly habit to catch as many of their favorites as possible on this very day? Discuss some of your absolute favorite Twilight Zone episodes.

Some of my favorites include Eye of the Beholder, The Obsolete Man, The Monsters Are Due on Maple Street, To Serve Man (gotta love Richard Kiel!), Time Enough at Last, The Invaders, The Little People and Dead Man's Shoes.

It has a different meaning for me- I was watching the Twilight Zone marathon back in 1992 (turning '93) when I first picked up a pencil and pen and began to draw with some intent behind it. It led to art as a career. I think my favorite was one where Jack Klugman was playing pool against a ghost.

Does anyone know if you can get like a complete series on DVD?

You can, I think it was expensive last I remember.

Other than friends and booze, the Twilight Zone marathon is my favorite thing about New Years. I've been watching it all day.

Of course I love "The Obsolete Man", but I can't believe nobody's mentioned the classic "Nightmare at 20,000 Feet"*.

But one of my absolute favorites is "The Self Improvement of Salvatore Ross"*. When I saw the twist at the end of that episode, my jaw literally dropped.

*I hope I didn't butcher those titles, but I'm sure you know which ones I'm talking about.

Yeah, no joke. I was scrolling through the episodes coming up, and I kept saying "ooooh, that one was great too". I set my DVR to record them all. Great stuff for sure.

One of the episodes that does stand out in my mind is the Burgess Meredith one where he gets super human strength. Good ole Mr. Dingle!!!

"A game of pool" good episode, a little goofy though.

One of my personal favorites is "The After Hours"

I won't ruin it, but it should be coming on soon in the marathon.

Nice. I paid $260 for it when it first came out. They even include some of the old t.v. promotionals at the end of the episodes along with never before seen outtakes of Serling messing up his monologue.

OK...let me pick your brain then. This may be a TZ episode, or an episode from one of the spin off shows from TZ.

There were some kids who played with their army men toys in this big barn. They went in to play with the toys one day, and they had all come to life and began attacking the boys.

Sound like a TZ episode?
