The U.S. Congress passed and the President signed The Commercial Advertisement Loudness Mitigation Act, or CALM.
TV commercials will not be allowed to be louder then the TV show's volume.
I have always hated when a commercial comes on and blasts you out of your seat.

I'm pretty sure in Australia there is a law against loud ads, but they still sound alot louder then the shows. |

It seems like the government wants us to watch TV. I wonder why they're so concerned. Hmmmmm.
