Ubuntu 9.10 installtion problems

Sign in to disble this ad
I did a clean install of ubuntu 9.10 (not an update of 9.04)
Live cd work well.
I'm doing a patition of 36 gig and I install it. Everything work well.
I take it off and I reboot.
When I'm (I think) on the login screen my screen turn pink and I can't do anything!
I try to enter my user name and password, just in case and it doesn't work.
I tried ctrl-alt-f1, my screen turn beige!

I tried to reinstall 2 or 3 times. Any idea what it might be?

Did you run an image check on the iso you downloaded?

If you just pop the disk in, where you can choose live or install mode there is a checking utility.

What are the specs on your machine? Can you boot into recovery mode? If you did not have a problem with a previous installation, re-install that, go to terminal, type in "sudo update-manager -d" and let it update the distro that way.

Nice machine! O_O

Just one more thing that probably doesn't matter, are you trying to install the 32-bit or 64-bit version? I've never had problems installing either version of any of the popular distros, but sometimes the strangest things can happen. Good luck!

Found no errors on the disk

And I downloaded the 64 bits dvd.
I might try to download de 64 bits cd...

We never know.

Or I might reinstall 9.04 and just upgrade from there.
