And, props to Dana for doing the right thing. "Pro" athletes have been coddled for far too long. The NBA,NFL, MLB etc. should be taking notes.

I wouldn't be surprised to see him tearing people up in the UFC in the near future.
Matt Brown and Jesse were my picks for the final in the very beginning I figured Amir would go far but didn't think he could take either jesse or matt brown. |

This whole season wasnt that good, guys gassing out in the first rounds, horrible jiu jitsu, bad coaching from Rampage seemed he didnt care either way..
Going to be hard to top Serra/Hughes or Penn/Pulver as far as seasons go those two seasons I didnt care what was going on Wednesday I was planted in front of the TV.
I thought Matt Brown would go all the way.. I liked Riddle he was hysterical and has the right attitude.
Amir is going to be a monster if he can get in the right camp. Hes got something most of the fighters didnt have this season Heart and Drive.
But CB is way overhyped, to get caught in jiu jitsu 101 Armbars is ridiculous they teach you that when your a white belt. Plus anyone who speaks about themselves in the 3rd party is a douche.

Jesse is a natural athlete and has a bad attitude but that doesn't take away from the fact that he's very strong for hit weight and has been getting a lot better at dodging submissions from the help he got on TUF. I only hope he can clean up his life and kick the bottle so he can live up to his potential and not just fade away.
Despite the fact that they were plugging CB all season I never saw him as a great fighter. honestly I didn't think he was going to pass the first round. |

I'm sure there are some fantastic D-2 schools w/ programs capable of working over ASU's. Being an Ohio native, if he was any good at all, he'd have ended up at Ohio State.
And yes, he IS a punk... And, I'm glad Amir punked him.
But, Jesse HAS to be the dumbest person on the planet. I simply wouldnt stand listening to him speak....

he didn't get the huge boost that winning TUF gets you but honestly I don't think he needs it as much as Amir or Tim did. Jesse IMO probably would have made it to the UFC level even without TUF. He makes interesting fights. Casual watcher of the ufc don't like to watch long BJJ battles they want to see Jesse's wicked ground and pound. It's easy to sell a fighter like jesse so it's easy for him to make it far in televised MMA. |

I agree with McHack hes just not that good, well 75% of the cast of this season was nothing special no real standouts, most lacking even the fundamental BJJ and Boxing skills.
Hence why CB got arm barred 2x thats elementary BJJ skilled wrestlers almost always give up there arms.. Until trained not to.. Ive seen it a 100x in the schools. Some tough guy walks in thinks since hes a wrestler he will fair ok in BJJ and gets tapped by arm bar almost immediately.

for those who don't know matches between a good wrestler and a good BJJ guy are generally epic struggles.
I can't name a fighter in the WEC at 185 that could touch Jesse....
Even Dana thinks he'd be competitive at the UFC level...
if you think Tim Credeur isn't a decent or seasoned fighter there's no way you follow MMA outside of UFC... |

Want some good fights Ill rip some Shooto Matches, are Mundial Matches that are sick..
Ive been following mixed martial arts for the last 9 years or so, and Jesse is nothing to look at. Hes fair at best. Hes strong, but he doesnt have the focus or desire to be #1 hence him pissing it away for a night on the town.
Put him up against a wrestler like Gray Maynard and he would eat Jesse alive.

"Jesse against a seasoned fighter even a half decent one would get crushed.." he dominated Tim. |

NO ONE.. They were all gassing out, falling for beginner moves, swinging for the fences versus structure.
They all lacked even early skills as a MMA fighter.
This seasons ratings are obviously proof of this as well.
Then the kicker is this in a recent news article hes trying to blame UFC for his stupidity saying being locked up in a house made him drink.. Give me a break dont make excuses for your own stupidity.. His party hard frat boy mentality is what screwed him.
Again put Jesse up against someone with a ounce of skill and your boy will be crushed.

Do you guys think that TUF, is luring too many clearly unprepared fighters into something they're really not ready for?
Did the whole "Fight your way onto the show" work for, or against them this year? | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
