I've had my Russian mail-order bride for 2 weeks now, and I can't get her to work. She also arrived broken; one of her nails was chipped. This may have been broken during shipping, i don't know; but I hardly think a broken nail should keep the darn thing from working at all!
I'm not having much luck in contacting the manufacturer about a repair/replacement/refund, etc.
I paid via PayPal; should I file dispute with them?
I was informed after I paid that there would be additional shipping-related expenses, which I paid for with my Visa card (yeah, I know... I bought a visa with a Visa.). Do you think their buyer protection will apply here?
Anyone? I need help here!

You'll end up taking a big loss on her but it's better than being stuck with her permanently. I'm not saying lie about the merchandise but you don't have to exactly announce all of her flaws. Caveat Emptor.
Make sure you get what you can out of her before you ship her off - it's June, and the grass could use mowing at least twice a week (if you know what I mean ) .
Good Luck.

I just had to have her. Luckily my GAS wore off before she even arrived, as I think that would have only made the situation worse.
But still, she just doesn't work.
The info on the website site said "chemical engineer," so I thought I would be pretty well off; but this PITA won't do anything! And it's so high-maintenence, too. I'm going broke just keeping her looking good, and getting nothing but headaches in return.
Not even a single grilled cheese sandwich.

Be careful though, sometimes finnicky machines will accidently turn on. Many of the newer models, unfortunately, clench their jaw when sitting up right. This is sure to cut any grilled cheese sandwich in half.
They sure don't make them like they used to.

It can sound a little been there done that at times, but if I change her strings she really hums nicely. I also have a cheap chinese model. She's my dirty little secret. Nice and raw and willing to try anything. Sometimes I play with both of them at the same time. They love to please. Still my downfall will be a Korean. So easy. I have the passive model. I can throw her anywhere and she just goes to town for me. She doesn't care where we are. She plays in the car, in a park at night. Of coure she performs wonderfully on stage.
I've never gone russian. I heard their resale is just horrible. About the closest I've come to a Russian is a German. She's a lound humbucker, but she has some amazing curves. So smooth but with a deep growl. Perhaps it's the way she works with the wood |

You gotta try before you buy and pick the one that performs best for you. That said, the word seems to be that the Asian-made products have pretty consistent quality. Unfortnately, my own experiences have been limited to very short playing times with a couple of MIJ and MIKs. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
