What are some foods or candies that dont get the respect that they deserve. I'll start with tootsie rolls. So simple, yet so delicious.

Sushi underrated? Where do you live? In my neighborhood, on one block alone I can think of at least 5 sushi bars, and they're always bumpin'. Actually I read a while ago that Japanese food is the second most popular ethnic food in Toronto next to italian (pizza).

Anyways...

Skirt steak
cow tongue
artichoke
babies
pike

Saute them in bacon fat with some lardons, salt and pepper. They're wonderful.

I vote for potatoes. Theres so much you can do with potatoes. I made candy out of them once for a cooking competition.

The wide Laffy Taffy bars. Hard to find in stores, but probably my favorite non-chocolate-based candy.
