I work here at UT, and there are armed subjects on campus. One guy had an AK47, but I believe he is dead (self inflicted). They're looking for another guy. The emergency sirens are really creeping me out.
This is going to be a long day.

Hang in there, and stay safe!

They are still sweeping for explosives/looking for the supposed second armed suspect. We just got the ok to open all exits/parking. People are trickling off campus. I am so glad that there was no innocent people shot. UTPD/APD/Travis county response was amazing, as well as the meaasures taken to spread emergency alerts. My cell phone went off with an alert about a minute before my boss called me to shut everything down. and to think I tried to unsubscribe from those pesky alerts.
But today I learned that emergency sirens (awful wailing sirens) are terrifying when they signal actual danger, and not just a testing of systems. But thank god they test them.

My dad was on campus that awful day Whitman went to work in the Tower.
It is always my first thought when I see the Tower. Sucks....
