I get extremely uncomfortable when I see people getting embarrassed. I'm trying to figure out how to explain this thoroughly. If I'm watching TV and I see someone doing something embarrassing I get physically uncomfortable to the point where I will pretend I need to go get a drink or go to the bathroom or something so I am out of the room when the embarrassing act happens.

I try to keep myself in the room and I'll actually start shaking and become ill feeling.

LOL! That's a good one, I can totally relate to that. I dont get the sick feeling but if I'm watching a show where someone's about to get pranked or tricked into a really embarrassing situation, I get a real apprehensive feeling. I'll do the same thing - get up and grab a beer, or go to the bathroom, whatever I can do to get myself away until the moment of embarrassment passes. If I try to force myself to watch it, I get fidgety and all kinds of stressed out.

That's funny, my cousin does exactly the same thing!
if there is something embarrassing on telly she gets all red and can't look, if it is really bad she will leave the room!
It used to be very bad 10 years ago, as in she would do it many times each day. she is getting better but still does it once in a while. (she is 38)

The only fear i have is people. I get uncomfortable in crowds.
No reason for it, it just happens.
I am fine in a smallish bar or on the street, but put me in a packed club with hundreds of people and i go mental.
My worst nightmare is being stuck in the first few rows of a big gig/festival!
It is strange because it is not a fear of getting squashed, or of the people themselves, it is more a need for my own space.

i wash all cans and bottles with soapy water before opening. disgusting things happen from production sites to your dinner table that must be sanitized, IMO/E! i cringe when i see someone just open a cold can of liquid and drink it down. do you know how many forms of bacteria or caustic agents are present on that can or bottle?!!

I have severe Emetophobia (fear of vomiting). If I hear of someone I know who has had a stomach virus, chances are it will be weeks and sometimes up to a month before I see them again. If I see someone Vomit, I have a severe anxiety attack.

I fear being consumed, which is why I won't surf and am not a big fan of going in the ocean to any measurable depth. I have snorkeled quite a bit, but always with a high level of anxiety. I also won't camp in bear country without the right caliber friend with me.

Realizing that odds are greatly with me, I'm still not taking chances.

Spiders are my number one unreasonable phobia. And ever since that woman got mauled and got her face and hands ripped off, I'm scared of Chimpanzees too.

Ha, I get this from time to time too, especially if others are in the room with me. I also tend to go grab a drink.

I'm absolutely terrified of flying. Many people share my phobia but I think mine is worse than most. I avoid flying at all cost...haven't been on a plane since 2008. And that flight was a short one-about an hour and some change. I was white knuckled, fists clenched, on the verge of a meltdown the entire way. And it wasn't particularly turbulent. It just terrifies me.
And it really sucks because it limits my travel a great deal. I've flown a lot and I've traveled a lot. But it seems the older I get, the worse the fear becomes. Most of my travel was official and therefore not by choice.
I really want to squash this phobia but don't know how.

I get this on roller coasters.... it's really really embarrassing being that my entire family loves roller coasters, but I swear to god that it's not even a controllable thing. It's not like I'm just being a wuss or something like that, there are actually almost overwhelming physical symptoms that I can't seem to overcome. Just being near one and hearing the roar and loud clanking of metal gets me shaking. If I were to be forced on one, I honestly think I would probably have a heart attack, I mean that literally. it sucks, because I would absolutely LOVE to overcome that. I feel like an idiot having to sit it out while the family goes and has a great time on one...

Id say your phobia is definitely not worse than others with the same affliction.
The people I know who are scared of flying have never been on a plane. They certainly could not say that theyve flown a lot.
