Unreal what some fandoms are doing...

As some of you know and hopefully most can figure out, I am a Transformer fan. I am a fan of the original concept and show of the Transformers.. NOT this ... this...egowank Bay is cranking out.

Well, this movie project has divided the TF fandom horribly...its worse in some ways then the worst Star Trek fan war you could imagine...and its getting out of total control. For the critics and for that matter fans that are seeing this slop for what it is, a nice little contest has been started to encourage the /brown-shirt/ fans as they are getting to be known as, to freely and publicly lambast the critics (and I know from experience, any intelligent 'fan' that gets in their way) in defense of this 'wonderful perfect movie'...

http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/transf...rtificate.html

Pass this around if anyone wants to...some of us on that board are out to publicly humiliate these 'fans' as much as we can and this is just one stop on my way to other boards....Its gone out of control...This has to stop somehow, some way.

You're kidding, right? It's a movie. I think a better use of the time spent worrying about this is, oh, I don't know...feeding the homeless? Why don't they take the $50 being used for this contest and buy a dude some clothes? Even mobilizing people for something that matters would be a start.

It's a movie, I think it's a pretty good one too.

And I'm mainly a G1 fan, but there are so many inconsistencies already in all the stories, why not.

It's also a hell of a lot better than the newer transformers cartoons they brought out (ie beastwars).

I'm amazed at the amount of loyalty there is to a televsion show used to market childrens toys.

If you're still getting any entertainment out of this show, you may need to set higher standards for your media consumption.

The internet is an amazing tool for people to get together and collectively waste their time while thinking it's making a difference.

I thought the 1st movie was REALLY bad.
Can't imagine how bad the 2nd one is.

I was a huge fan when I was a kid, I thought that the movie was going to be about the TRANSFORMERS(ie how & why they left Cybertron, elders...etc....) , not about 2 stupid teens.
How many lines does Prime get in the 1st one????....1...2....

Hi guys I do appreciate ALL the comments. And for what its worth to the comment about how could one still get enjoyment out of the original cartoon; it has a huge cult following and lives on in adult aged Fanfics now and a decently older aged comic book series.

And so far spreading it out to other areas of the net has worked to a point. Tony (the admin who I knew at one point some time ago, and /had/ some sort of respect for him until he did /this/ number) is trying to do damage control on it... but I think its too late for that. Hes deleted (of course) posts by members angered over the contest and what its promoting and is trying to set the rules straight. But hes not stopping the gist of the contest.... still have work to do.. (yea a few of us have gotten together and have said 'enough of this'.)

Hats off to my lowender buds for your comments, all of them. The tone of refreshing, intelligent remarks is so nice after having to wade though the brownshirts plaguing the TF fandom right now...

Oh yea, to the comment about what he thought the 1st movie was suppose to be about? Thats exactly what it WAS suppose to be until..Michael Bay stepped in.....

Every medium works differently. They can't be the same, won't be the same, and there's nothing you can do about it. Don't worry, if you don't like it don't watch it. Let those that do do so.

I'm glad you liked that one, but I don't think it's been all that long since my last good post. I'll try a little harder though
