begin rant...
As an MSU Spartan fan that lives and works in the Columbus, Ohio area, I'm really loving hearing all the buckeye fans getting all riled up and telling me that OSU will, once again, own the Big 10 and have a national title in 2-4 years. There's nothing like hearing ignorant, bad English-speaking factory working sports fans tell me and other Big Ten team fans how they're all the sudden awesome again......BEFORE URBAN MEYER CONFIRMS THAT HE"S AGREED TO A DEAL!!!
This whole thing reminds me 3 years ago....

And I have no problem with anyone retiring and coming back if they want to. It's the market at work.

Just in my opinion he always leaves when things are not so peachy. But then again, things are are not so peachy at OSU. So we shall see.

I saw this coming when Tressel left last year.

| | | | Well, if he can get the program back on top, I'm all for it. Tressel was a giant disappointment in the end. I kinda of wish Fickle was given at least another season. I think he did pretty amazing things with the mess he was handed this year. Heck, if Miller hadn't screwed up a couple of easy TD passes we would have beaten Michigan again this year.

I saw this coming when Tressel left last year. | I'm feeling kind of this way too. I don't think him staying would have prevented this terrible season, but I sure wish guys would just be honest about why they leave or accept positions.

He's an Ohio guy with lots of Florida recruiting ties. If he is able to lure SEC type speed and talent to Columbus the rest of the Big Ten is in trouble |

He certainly let go a great player (Cam Newton) who came back to bite him badly. He has had three nice D1 jobs before fifty, he should be able to afford whatever health care he needs to be effective.

I think the biggest problem Meyer will have at OSU is that the recruiting standards (especially with respect to "greyshirting" and oversigning) of the Big10 are MUCH more restrictive than the SEC.

Urban has never built a team (especially on that didn't collapse on itself), and really doesn't offer stability. Poor recruiting practices and and player conduct standards marred his time at UF, what's to say they won't pop up again? Furthermore, who's to say he won't quit when things get tough or won't have "health issues" again?
Too many questions involved with Meyer.

I really don't like that he's taking another job already. But the tearing down of Meyer's ability has gotten silly, IMO.
