I've never seen any of the movies, honestly it looks boring, but today during spare (High School free period) there were these 4 stereotype nerds talking about Star Wars... and I remembered winning the Star Wars Trilogy Special Editions on VHS when I was young.. So now, do I really want to watch the 3 first episodes of Star Wars ?

I used to insist that Star Wars was nerdy. Now I still agree, but it is one of the best stories of all time. Classic hero/villain theme, archetypes, etc. A VERY well made story/movie.
Go for it.

If you have a problem with cheese, you should watch Dune first to put things in perspective.

I'm a Star Wars geek from as far back as I can remember. There's a whole slew of books that compliment the movies, it's definitely something you can sink into with complex characters, plots, and all. |

if you can suffer Jar-Jar Binks, you can withstand ANYTHING!
Seriously, start with episode four, the original star wars (now referred to as A New Hope), then watch Empire Strikes Back and Return Of The Jedi.
As far as Dune goes, both the original movie (in which bass player Sting had a small part), and the Sci-Fi Channel remake were different but both interesting. And yes they made a sequel called "Children of Dune". I didn't see that. |

Star Wars, The Empire Strikes Back, and Return of the Jedi. They're fun movies.

Such a horribly unnervingly unfocused BLUR of the whole storyline for nothing more than a styling exercise... I think the Sci Fi revision was mush more faithful to the text, yet still a tad half hearted. At least the Weilding weapon was addressed better...and the Shai Haluud looked better...
