I like NFL football, and I love the playoffs, but IMO, the Superbowl too often is overhyped and the game itself is disappointing. I often think other annual sporting events are more exciting. My favorite is the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament. The Final Four is almost always good. The funny thing is that I am not a huge basketball fan, but I just love the atmosphere of the NCAA tournament. I also love the NBA finals, and the World Series too. I think they all are less hyped and more satisfying than the Superbowl year in and year out.

I had the good fortune to attend the Final Four a few years back. Great stuff. Ironically, I can't stand the NBA Finals.
IMHO, the Super Bowl should go back to one week between the Championships and the game so we don't have to sit through an extra week of fabricated stories.

The game usually is awesome, the commercials are usually awesome, and the food is usually awesome. |

I wouldn't know since I think the last time I watched the Super Bowl was about 1967 or '68. But alot of people I know are really enthusiastic about that annual event and will plan an entire day's events around a single TV show.. go figure!! .. .. |

Not for the game itself (although it does tend to be dreary), but for the build up. The only possible way to not be disappointed in the game is to ignore everything until the ball is actually kicked at 6:35 (or whatever ) EST on game day. Even then, the 4 hour game time is a real kick in the groin.
I have increasingly lost interest in all of the big 3 US sports because of the way they are presented on TV. I blame ESPN for everything....

The NCAA Basketball tournament is pretty much the best sporting event there is IMO, particularly if you are rooting for one of the schools as a student or alum. Of course, I may be a little biased since I was an attending student at George Mason University for March 2006. |

I agree that they need to play the game one week after the CG's, not two. I thought the lady in the wedding dress that proposed to Tom Brady made a mockery of "media day", and made the NFL look bad.

I could watch football back a few years ago and kinda liked it.
In the Super Bowl there is no rivalry, these teams have no idea that they would playing each other at the start of the season. I would think the division game would be the crowning glory of the team. Fighting all season to be the top of the AFC or the NFC, to face a team for a championship that there is no rivalry is lame.
I hate pro sports in general now, but NASCAR and Football top my list of dislike. |

The Super Bowl is the one football game I am sure to watch in it's entirety. I'm in it mainly for the party aspect of the annual Super Bowl party, but I'll park my fat tuckus on the couch and make a day of it. I'm pretty much the same way with Basket Ball. I'll watch some playoff games and the championship but it's mostly about who I'm with and where I'm at. I do like Boxing however my wife does not, so I don't get to watch as much of that as I used to.

Pro football seems to keep turning into a nicer, cleaner game every year. I want rough and tumble football. The only game I want to see in a dome with pristine conditions would be the super bowl.
The game is definately overhyped and I don't care for either of the teams in there this year. However, I'm still gonna go out and have one hell of a time with some of my buddies this coming sunday. No doubt.
