There is one for sale down the street $1400 for an '84. I've been doing a little research. I have no more details on the vehicle except that it seems to be a camper of some sorts. I'm sort of hoping that it is air-cooled. I've owned one vehicle and driven one vehicle both with heater core problems. These are a costly repair in that they usually require the full removal of the dash (newer vehicles, perhaps this one; if water cooled, is a little easier to deal with due to age).

I may take pics later tomorrow if it is still for sale. I'll post them up.

At any rate I'm wondering if anyone has any tips or advice before I pull the trigger. Actually I don't have any money for it, but may be able to pull some strings. It may be a nice thought but a bad reality. I'm certainly entertaining the thought that it would be good for local gigs and short out of towners. No tours however. I may be interested in pulling out the sink and other stuff that I wouldn't have a use for.

IME, any vehicle that costs $1,400 will need work when you get it and if you haul equipment, it will need more work along the way.

If you're a mechanic with tools/$$ and can do the work yourself, then it would probably be okay.

If you're not, you'll be paying someone $$ just to keep it off the side of the road.

Since you don't have any money, I suggest not "pulling strings".

Btw, they have limited horse power and loaded with equipment, will barely make the speed limit and will be crawling should you have any hills to traverse.

Unless you're pretty good at fixing cars, I'd avoid anything that's nearly 25 years old.
