Don't all hotels like that have sprinklers? Doesn't seem possible a fire like that could happen these days.

Anything's possible.
Just thank God they had sprinklers, or it could have been MUCH worse!

What caused it?

EDIT: There were welders on the roof. I don't wonder what caused it anymore.
