"....Both officers have been placed on administrative suspension."

And should be looking for new careers, perhaps in the food service industry, very soon.

Nothing worse than what a Catholic priest would, I'm sure.

Well it's better than socking him in the mouth.

At first, I thought this was another April Fools article.

If we had not created a nation where an adult authority figure risks jail and a lawsuit for spanking a bad kid's bottom, we would not need to call the cops when a kid gets out of line.

Good point, I think. And it isn't confined to your nation, either.

I agree.

Western countries (seriously speaking here) really need (some) Asian/Confucian values.

Not that we're all angels, or backward, but at least most of our kids know how to behave themselves and respect their elders.

It's a possibility that this child's behavior could be the result of having crack or alcohol withdrawls., from when his mother was carrying him.

They're both on PAID vacation until other cops "investigate" and clear them.

10 years after?!?
I'm not up on the medical aspect of that possibility, but that to me seems highly unlikely.

While a stun gun does seem extreme, we have created a state of society where children have been allowed to run amok with little or no repercussions for their actions.

My kids aren't perfect, but I was brought up in small town/midwest where behavior of this kind is unheard of because it is not tollerated so I don't tollerate it from my kids either. Although my kids have been born and are currently being raised here in Vegas (no, not the best place to raise kids), my Wife and I constantly get compliments on how respectful and well behaved our kids are (as compared to what they're used to down here).

10 years after would be right on point.

Some kids, not all who are born to crack addicted mothers(even alcoholic mothers) usually are born with developmental disorders, significant increase in rates of impulsive behavior, distractibility, and aggressive behavior.

There really are a lot of possibilities as to why this child was acting the was he is(if the account is accurate).

I agree Jauqo. I also think such disorders are why kids such as the one who was given the stun gun need to be raised with steady, firm, and understanding discipline from the beginning. If a kid has not been disciplined at 2 or 3, it will almost impossible to get to him or her when the child is 10 or 12.

Yes, but those wouldn't be "crack or alcohol withdrawls"

OMG!! Me and Doc Cheese are on the exact same page!!

Not that I agree with zapping the kid but...........as in many cases, consider the fact that less overall harm might have been done in subduing him in this manor. If he has some sort of mental disorder, things could get really ugly, even with a 94 pound person and two cops. A quick touch with the stung gun would allow him to be cuffed and put in the car without any further injuries.
