Prayers to the whole family. You could not meet a nicer bunch of people. I know some of his family from NC and VA and I spent a week at Vic's camp several years back. As nice as they are talented. Their mother, Dorothy, is bar none one of the most awesome personalities I have ever come cross. Lifting one up for the whole family.

That's too bad. Rudy was the one Wooten you almost never heard anything about.

My bass teacher met him and even jammed with him a few times, he had nothing but great things to say about him. Great player and an inspiration in my sax playing, very humble to boot. May he rest in peace he will be missed.

Is this for real? My prayers go to the Wooten family.

I think the only time I heard Rudy's playing was on Victor's Yin & Yang cd.

Rudy was a sweet spirit! Over and above his being a good musician, he was a kind and gentle person. What a total shock! Our prayers are with the Wooten family. Heaven's horn section just got bigger....and I know there'll be one hot jam session to celebrate Rudy's arrival! R.I.P. Rudy!

I had the pleasure of jamming with Rudy a couple weeks ago. He was a kind and humble talent. My prayers go to the Wooten family.

I believe Victor's tweet said he Rudy died wearing his sax in his bedroom. He died doing what he loved to do.
