Video Editing/recording freeware?

Sign in to disble this ad
Own a dell. My dell webcam program isnt working. I called dell many times and to no avail. Anyways, im wondering if there is any freeware that i can download that can record viddys with my built in webcam. I want to record myself playing one of my tunes, you see. The audio would go through my Audix I5, into me firebox, and then into cubase where i would export it and sync it up with the video. Any ideas would be a great help, thank you!

Quicktime broadcaster lets you independently select your video and audio inputs. I took a long time to discover it, but since then, it's the only thing I use for webcam + instrument recording.

Ah, my mistake. I read as "for Mac and Windows", but this statement wasn't related to Broadcaster.

Windows movie maker is built into XP... not sure about vista or 7. You can also get virtualdub to edit videos. I highly recommend getting the xvid codec so that you can compress .avi file types to manageable sizes.

Usually it's an option for selecting source. But if you can't find it you might want to google it. Since I don't have a webcam, I can't offer any instructions. Usually for video I just use my digital camera in movie mode, and upload that, but the quicktime files are huge and slow loading via web.
