...you are now part of a class action lawsuit. Pecover v Electronic Arts, Inc.
Here's the deal: A few years ago Electronic Arts paid the NFL a very tidy sum to be the exclusive video game maker allowed to make games regarding the NFL. Hence why some games like Blitz were no longer able to use NFL teams or players since that deal.
The claimants say this is a violation of antitrust laws. The NFL has antitrust protection, however EA does not, which seems to be the basis for the case.
What say you guys? I can definitely see both sides to the argument. I'm a member of the lawsuit and don't intend on opting out, though I doubt I'll ever receive anything out of this.

And yet they cost the exact same as any other video game?
The NFL has really sunk to a new low. |

This is crazy. Shouldn't this be a FCC problem?

Well thanks for passing this cost on to the rest of us gamers. You should be proud of yourselves.
No offense to leeches and lampreys. |

EA seems to be doing that these days. Of course, I'm completely biased against them for the atrocities that were Mass Effect 2 and Dragon Age 2. I also HATE the need to be connected to live to play the game I bought brand new, so even the developers got their cut.
Actually on the cost thing, 2k used to sell its sports games for $20, and EA for $40 or $50. The new console brought the exclusitivity contracts and a rise in prices to $60. It may have come from the new consoles, or it could've stemmed from a lack of competition.

If you want to blame someone for the games, blame Bioware. They haven't made a great game since Baldur's Gate 2 in my opinion (although I did enjoy KoToR...even though KoToR 2 was better, Bioware had nothing to do with that one).
