I just had the best vermicelli with charcoal pork in my life. I think Vietnamese food deserves a thread because it's awesome. That is all.

Here in Philly, we have several excellent Vietnamese restaurants, and they're among our favorites. I'll take it over Chinese any day.

About 20 years ago, I saw a middle-aged white American dude at an outstanding hole-in-the-wall Vietnamese place. He had a swastika tattooed into his forehead, and was reading a Vietnamese language newspaper. I really did not want to know what he did over there. Yikes.

My regular order:

Large pho, extra brisket, no noodles, with a side of vinegar onions.

Either a black coffee (no milk) or an avacado milkshake (only on rare occasions).

The Vietnamese hoagies are also quite tasty.

Pho, Bun Bo Hue (hold the congealed pork blood, please), and Bo'Kho are some of my favorites. What can I say; I like the soups. Plus, aside from being delicious, a big bowl of Pho will fix up a cold PDQ.

Pho with tripe and tendons to go with the flanks, along with an ample amount of bean sprouts, with a few pieces of Chinese basil, is my favorite.

pho, at least by the vietnamese here in Houston, is pronounced "fuh," Like "fun" but without the n sound.

My ultimate favorite meal is a plate that comes with crushed rice with char. pork, shredded pork skin, an egg cake, and one egg sunny side up on top of the whole thing.

I see your Thai and raise you Korean!

My nephews wife is Vietnamese. Her family makes some kick ass food. I have no idea what it is, but it does kick serious ass.

Vietnamese has great vegetarian stuff too

One of the other martial arts instructors at my school is Vietnamese, and when we have holiday parties, his mom always makes a huge batch of THEE most amazing vegetarian spring rolls.
