Who else here has still spins the 33 1/3, 45s and 78s?

I have a collection of roughly 3,000 vinyls. All would rate at least "Very Good" on the collector's scale. Mostly rock, but a lot of doowop, blues, classical, jazz and such as well in there. Quite a lot of ballroom / 50s stuff too. Got a fair amount of picture discs. A couple of ancient Beatles albums (some in mono!).
I'm not a collector though, I listen to it. Not looking to sell it for profit later, just looking to enjoy it now .

Currently have two tables:
Rega P3-24
Denon DP-300F

Both have stock carts and tone arms... for now. I need to get better speakers and a newer receiver before I worry about upgrading either cart or tone arm (or table, for that matter).

I had pictures but I lost them during one of my multiple moves.

I used to be a DJ so I have some good pro turntables and monitors.

I need a new table. I have an old GE portable from the 60's my ex-girlfriend bought me on eBay. She overpaid, but it's still a really awesome, really awful sounding table.

I bought tons of it plus everyone I know that ditched their turntables, passed their vinyl on to me...

My next thing is going to be a good pair of near field monitors. I just don't know which ones yet. Still don't get the sound stage I'd like, but I don't have the room for what I'd like right now . Soon, but not now.

I have a Gemini XL-DD20 turntable and two spare needles for my Pickering cartridge. Currently I'm taking advantage of my vacation time to transfer some LPs to mp3. My vinyl collection is rather modest. Can't remember the exact number right now, but they are around 700, including 12" and 7" singles. Are double and triple albums supposed so be counted as one item?

I count each actual thing I bought as one album. Some of my Opeth albums span 4 LPs, but I only count it as one "album".

Ah, gotcha man. I have the "standard" Technics 1200, an older one, but it works nice. I also recently got a ION with the USB out, which is cool, as well as an older Realistic with the "linear arm" that needs a cartridge. I have lots of old hairband stuff that I sample riffs off of, as well as blues and lots of piano music and odds and ends I find at thrift stores...I recently aquired my Dad's entire collection too, lots and lots of classic rock and I have a nearly endless sea of 45's, that became "mine" through my marraige.

When I have people over sometimes they bring their favorites and we sample stuff for my recording projects...I'm trying to find some of that classic merrie melodies cartoon music on vinyl...any clue where to score that?

You already down the right track - thrift stores etc. I have a couple of 45s of that stuff, and maaaaaaybe a 33 even, but I'm not entirely sure now. I may have sold it off at one point or another.

yeah, they are pricey. i got mine used a few years back offa craigslist for 250 w/o a stylus.
