Vinyl sticker material for covering big surfaces?

Sign in to disble this ad
I'd need something to cheer up the old dishwasher we're getting to the apartment from my SO's parents, and I've seen these large vinyl sticker sheets, with all kinds of fancy prints and patterns, that are used to cover laptops, etc.

I've got no idea what this stuff is called, which makes searching it a bit difficult. So far, I've been only able to find only designer wall decoration stickers, that are huge, cut to shape and expensive. Anyone know where I could get large sheets of this stuff, or what brandnames or whatnot I can search for?

It used to be called "Contac" paper in the old days. Wood grains, flowers, you name it. Very cheesy. I haven't seen it for years. It would be very useful if you were doing a Brady Bunch remake. If you get sick of it and want to peel it off, good luck!

Maybe you're thinking of something else.

Maybe you could try a local sign shop? If they can't supply you with the large piece of vinyl, maybe they could at least point you in the right direction.

How about Tolex, piping, grille cloth, and an old Ampeg or Acoustic nameplate?
