Vitamin Water!

Sign in to disble this ad
I love this stuff and have been a big fan for quite a while! I love them all, they are some of the best drinks I have ever had (SOBE IS the best IMO) I like them also because they aren't as sweet as cokes and all that. Some people say that they are extremely bad for you but I don't know, It can't be worse than half of the other stuff us Americans eat, so I'm not a big believer in that. Though I do question the amount of vitamin content.

I'm just curious as to what do you guys think about it?

I rarely drink the stuff because it just doesn't make much sense to me personally. I eat reasonably healthy and stay active and being in the habit of doing that, enriched water just seems...I dunno...useless.

ALTHOUGH...I do love natural green tea, I drink that stuff like it's the fountain of youth. I also like to make my own fruit drinks which happen to taste better than any processed swill from the supermarket. Lots of quick and easy recipes online for that kind of stuff.

I am not the healthiest eater. I am however trying to phase out carbonated drinks and sweet tea. Vitamin Water is how Ive done well with quitting cokes and tea so far.

i really like vitamin water (especially the lemonade). after a hot day working outside i really crave carbs, and it does the trick while giving me some vitamins- i try to select my food and drink by what will be the best for me under the circumstances.
there are MUCH worse things for you at the gas station food and drink section than vitamin water.
i'm pretty sure the vitamin content is legit- although probably not derived from the best sources, vitamin additives are cheap.

Yes the vitamin claim is likely legit. Although the only benefit you get from vitamin pills or water is pissing more vitamines than you usually do.
What's wrong with plain water ?

They need to have vitamin water in a powder mix. The only Gatorade I drink is out of the powder mix, because I can make it stronger for before/after exercise and lighter during exercise. If Vitamin Water was available with a powder, I'll buy a lot more.

Personally, I think bottled waters and beverages are a huge waste. You're paying a lot more for the plastic than the beverage. I use a Nalgene bottle and I use water from a water cooler at home. It saves a lot more money than bottled water and it's better than tap or fridge water.

Don't use it as a substitute for soda. It's the same thing with a different presentation.

that article has a clear agenda, they would be singing the praises of vitamin water from a mountain top if properly compared to soda!

a 20oz mountain dew has 77g of carbs from hfcs with no nutritional benefits, compared to 32g in 20oz of vitamin water with added minerals and vitamins- pretty much a no-brainer.

from the article
"A government survey in 1999 showed that the median American adult man or woman already consumes more than the Recommended Dietary Allowance (RDA) of vitamins thiamin, riboflavin, niacin, B6 and B12, and three-quarters of the RDA of vitamins C, B9 and A (including carotenes)"

meaning that we don't get enough c and b9, so we should be getting extra from somewhere else right? what about the calcium, vitamin B3, Folic Acid, vitamin B5, Magnesium, and Zinc that are added to the some of the drinks? there are more- i just pulled these from the multi-v; the one i drink most often (which isn't really that often). i guess even more vitamins makes it really bad .

First time I ever had vitamin water was on our lifeguard boat. My skipper brought a cooler onboard and it was full of that crap. I had one, it was some kind of Gatorade vitamin power water or something. It didn't taste all that bad, but I still prefer water. Then it hit me. That vitamin water crap kicked me in the gut and I had to jump overboard, pull my trunks off and do my impression off an octapus squirting ink.

Didn't 50 Cent own a part of the company that makes Vitamin Water? IIRC they ended up selling to Coca-Cola and his take was around 400 million or so.

I don't like Vitamin Water. The last time I drank it was when I had the flu & strep throat at the same time.

For the flavored health waters-i like Gatorade's Propel the best. Lately, I've been brewing cold tea and i just bring a bottle of that to work. Much cheaper.

Nothing helps the gangster image quite like having your own flavourof Vitamin Water.

No, http://www.cnn.com/2008/HEALTH/condi....ap/index.html . Take it as you would any news site....

On topic, we recently (at our school) started serving Vitamin Water. It has become a hit among everyone. I drink it when they are out of juice.
