I live in Guilderland, New York, which is very close to Albany. On June 19, there is a Battle of the Bands called Nervosity held at a local park.

Anyways, only 11 bands can make it, and there are currently 20 bands signed up so obviously all of them don't get to play. Also, the bands that receive the most votes get to play in the prime time of the evening when the most people are there. So getting to my point, you can vote 10 times per email, so you can keep voting from one name, they just have to be different emails. So help a TB'er out and vote! My band's name is Sunny Side Up.

Nervosity is a way that we can get involved and be an answer to
the issues of our World.

On June 19th, teens from around the Capital Area will gather at Tawasentha Park to listen to great music, eat food, have fun, and help take a stand against the AIDS epidemic in Africa and the World.

How?
While you are at Nervosity you will have the chance to:
- Donate money
- Buy Raffle Tickets to win great prizes
- Purchase food, T-shirts, and other merchandise
- Write a letter to an African child orphaned by AIDS
- Help paint a mural that will be given to a school in Zimbabwe
- Get resources to help raise awareness and funds with your family, friends, school, or band

All of the money collected from donations, raffle, and merch sales will be given to Forgotten Voices Internation to assist in preventing AIDS and caring for those already affected.

That's right - by coming to a concert, buying raffle tickets to win PRIZES, and eating GOOD food, you will become part of the solution.

PLAY! Sign your band up to be one of the 11 bands to perform at the Nervosity Summer Kickoff. If selected, you will play a 15 minute set (please make sure songs are free of any explicit lyrics).

Lyrics must be pre-approved and exempt from: cursing and strong sexual and/or violent content.

VOTING: Once your band is signed up, your band name will be entered on the Nervosity Voting Page within 24 hours. To be able to compete in Nervosity you must be in the top 11 Bands of voting. Simply send your friends, family, and neighbors to this page, and have them vote for your band. Number of votes will also determine the set time of each band, with the last slot going to the band with the most votes. So go ahead and get the word out!

Voting closed at June 13th at midnight.

SETUP:
You are allowed 15 minutes (while another band is playing) for set-up and a festival style sound check. You may bring your own guitar amps and instruments. You may bring your own bass rig and drum set, cymbals, kick pedal, snare, and throne, or you may use the supplied rig/set. Any additional effects must be submitted by June 5th.

Judging:
Bands will be judged based on the following criteria: Musicianship, Stage Presence, Originality, and Interaction with the Crowd.

Musicianship, Stage Presence, and Orginality will be judged by a panel of judges. Nervosity judges are professional musicians or music industry professionals.

The last catagory, Interaction with the Crowd, will be judged by the volume of crowd applause following each band's final song. The applause will be recorded by a db (decibel) meter; the higher the volume of applause, the higher the score.

The break down of catagories is:
Musicianship: 40%
Stage Presence: 30%
Orginality: 20%
Interaction with Crowd: 10%
PRIZES:
1st place will be awarded trophies, a demo recording package (complements Easter Island Productions), a song (from the recording) added 88.3 The Saint's summer rotation, chance to play at the Altamont Fair, prizes from our sponsors, and most importantly, lots of respect! Second and 3rd place finishers will receive prizes from our sponsors and pie.

STOP AIDS: The Mission of Nervosity is help eliminate AIDS in Africa. Our dream is to see our generation and community become revolutionary humanitarians. To help fulfill this dream, Nervosity is asking all bands to take up this agenda. First, by promoting Nervosity to all fans and friends, not just as a great concert, but a chance to change the world. Second, by starting to raise money. At your shows and parties, if you have a chance to talk, pass the hat to donate some cash to Africa through Forgotten Voices Inc. Help us change the World!
