I think it is likely, or perhaps Rick takes him out and then Darryl winds up with mixed emotions over that. Merle reminds me of some of the bullies I knew growing up in grade/high school that just having it coming to them in such a violent way that you can't wait for it to happen.

I'm not so sure the Gov ever had any trust in Merle. My theory is that he keeps Merle close so he can keep an eye on him. Give him something "important" to do, make him feel useful. A satisfied Merle is a controlled Merle.

There seems to be a common theme with characters taking out their loved ones. Andrea with her sister, Carl with his mother, the bow and arrow girl at the town with her father and brother; so, Daryl with Merle would be along the same underlying theme of being the person to take out a loved one to put them down and keep surviving themselves.

I thought the phone thing was a bit lame too and it does look like it was just used for Rick to get his head back in the game since he never got the chance at closure with Lori.

It started to have that "Lost" feeling...can't leave because the phone's gonna ring....

Looking forward to the remaining episodes!

Good points about the killing of loved ones too....

I showed my wife this house back when it first hit the internet. She loves modern designs, and instantly fell in love with this one in spite if the rather drab exterior. Opened up, it's beautiful looking and really seems elegant. The perfectly green yard doesn't hurt either. She also liked the idea of being able to close things completely down at night since I'm out of town a good bit, and she gets spooked a little. Zombies or not, that house could come in handy. I'm sure the person who built it is a bit paranoid, but at least the built it in style. Love it!

Rick is going to put the lives of the entire group at risk looking for a wet nurse for his newborn. Darryl will impregnate Carol, but she comes out of the closet before the baby is born, and sets of on her own quest to see if Melissa Ethridge is still out there somewhere. Glenn moves back to Atlanta where life was easier before saving Rick. Carl loses his hat in a zombie herd attack, and though he survives he can't quite cope with it all without his hat, so he offs Rick in a temper tantrum. Herschel finally gives up trying to look like one of the Doobie Brothers and shaves with an infected razor which causes him to turn. Since zombies are too stupid to use crutches, he just wanders around in small circles for the rest of the season trying to find some food.

This is all I can think of to predict on such short notice.

Good episode. Bummed Andrea slept with The Governor. She must have dated many douche bags in the old world.

Yeah. First Shane and now the Gov. She knows how to pick 'em.

I think the character flaw of Andrea is she can't help but fall for guys that make her feel safe and in this new world that's a bad thing. she got it on with Shane just after he taught her to shoot, and the gov'nuh after he brings her in from the outside.
