We just bought our dream house...I think!

Hi everybody,
Since a whole lot of you are strangely closer to me than most, I thought I would share this...
My wife and I are in the process of buying our, I guess you would say, dream house.
We have lived in a little old house for 10 years, I mean old as in built in 1929, we have saved dilligently, remodeled most everything ourselves, and somehow just had our offer accepted on one kick-a$$ crib!!
I mean this thing is over the top!! There is a room downstairs and around the corner that is like 30 x 17 x like 15 feet tall!
It looks like some crazy bar/club in the middle of the Yukon! All wood and stone and a big cathedral ceiling!! It is a bass players dream!! Acoustics from hell!! I hope to host a NW Indiana GTG within the next year!!!
Just wanted to share...Peace and Cheers to all my TB bretheren...and sisteren!

Nice! Our house is 25' x 25' (with a small extension on the front). So no 30' x 17' jam room

Nice, my jam room is my bedroom Although in my teachers house, he took the master bed room and remolded it into a studio type thing, split it up into three rooms, one for the sound board and stuff, and two recording booths. The wall between the booths could be taken out so a whole band could sit in there together and play. It was awesome learning stuff in there, we would record it and then play it back, finding my mistakes. It was awesome.

Way to go, Tiger!

My wife and I were able to buy our "Dream home" a couple of years ago and let me tell you, there are few things more satisfying!

Congratulations!

Thanks for all the warm wishes. Now we just gotta sell our house!!!! So far, so good though...the listing agent came this morning and thinks we should have no problem at all selling it.
Good thing I'm off this week because we have a lot of work to do though, they want us to de-clutter!!!!

How? I'm guessing the room ends where that brick wall is?

Where is the 25' ceiling, in another room?

I'd assume that that brick wall could quite easily be a load bearing pillar or some kind, or possibly just a half wall.

Split level?

Going from the brick wall and the pitched roof, I expect that that brick wall was originally the extrerior of the downstairs room, an extension was added onto the outside and part of the wall was removed (likely in a window, which would explain a small remainder of the original wall.

The extension would have a pitched roof as it doesn't have a second floor above it.

Thats my guess anyway.

Wowo congrats man! I recently moved with my wife and year old daughter from an apartment to a house, and feel sooo good about it, I imagine finding your dream house must be a great feeling!!!

the moving part might be a bit of a pain, but always keep in mind it's worth it!
Hope to see the pics of that jam room fully equiped soon!

Whew...tough crowd!! Thanks for your input, you were mostly right! I'm not exactly sure how tall it is, but it is pretty tall from what I remember...maybe 15 feet? I had a pretty good celebratory buzz going when I posted this last night!!
From where that pic was taken, you can walk backwards quite a bit. There is quite a big area that is all open before you walk formally into that room, if that makes sense.
It's a tri-level and that room was added on around the corner from the rest of the downstairs.

No. I wanted to see the room with the 25' ceiling as that is highly uncommon in downstairs rooms in the USA. As I suspected, it isn't 25'. More like 10' or 12' max. That is all.

You misunderstand my use of the word geeze, I guess I need to use more of these to get my tone across:

Geeze is short for Jesus.

To some a mythical character who was formulated among the minds of power hungry rulers looking for a crutch to rule their subjects with.

For others, he is the greatest man who ever lived and provides inspiration for billions around the world to lead better lives.

Take your pick.
