What type of server is your host? Are you using a content management system?

If it's Unix/Linux/BSD then I recommend Gallery2. It is very customisable, stable, and integrates with many CMS with a bridge.

Coppermine seems to a popular one as well.

Is it using Fantastico?

If so, you can ask your provider if they can add Gallery to it.

Coppermine is OK, but I'm not a big fan of it. I like Gallery because it is easy to bulk upload.

It seems like photgraphers are starting to use the web stuff in Adobe Lightroom to create galleries in Flash.

I set up Plogger on my bands website, its pretty good. Not going to say its the best or anything, but was simple to setup, and you can sign in and upload pictures from anywhere without ftp access
