Welcome to the PAC-10 Utah

So the University of Utah made a big splash a few years ago by beating Alabama in a bowl game. Utah spoke before and after that game how they could compete with the big boys if given the chance in a BCS conference.

Well Utah, you got your wish. Time to compete with the big boys and show us all you really are as good as you claim.

Very good move by the NCAA, they've earned it.

One of two great teams that deserve a BCS conference, and i think their style will be ok in the pac 10. now if only we could get TCU somewhere.

TCU needs to go Big 12 to help save that conference. They need another couple teams to keep a conference championship.

For years, the talk was about Boise State and Utah joining the Pac-10, but Utah and Colorado works, too. I agree that TCU would be good for the Big 12, but will they need one more team besides TCU to get back to 12?

Yeah I typoed, I meant they needed another team on top of TCU to keep the championship. I'd have rather seen Boise go PAC and Colorado stayed in the Big 12,

Lots of people here in Houston (including local congressmen) are trying to make a huge push to get Univ of Houston to join the Big 12. I doubt they'll make it though....both Texas and A&M have huge fanbases here, and both schools probably want to keep UH out.

I would have preferred Boise State over Colorado, the latter haven't done much of anything lately

EDIT: Do these Conference changes affect only football?? Because the Big 12 is one of the better basketball conferences, although it'd be weird to have 2 sports at the same school playing in different conferences

I'm thinking it might only be football, just because with all the discussions that ESPN have been having, basketball hasn't even been mentioned. And with a conference like the Big 12, you'd assume it'd be in the discussion. Maybe schools will be in 2 different conferences....very weird

Anyone else think this move should have also been done by Boise State (maybe even go to the surviving Big XII?) - I think both Utah and BSU deserved something better, Utah got it, not sure about BSU going to the Mountain West.

The press conference for Utah today said it was for all sports programs.

I would agree that Boise State should get into a major conference if not for that stupid blue field. Hate it.
