I guess you can call it that ..
My daughter qualifies for Survivor Benefits from my ex-wife's passing.
So ..
No more $500 alimony to ex.
12.5% pay raise.
$275 in pocket per month for survivor benefits.
at least financially i'm gonna be a little more stable.

Have you hugged her today? Remember to when you get home from work. Tell her, bass players around the world are thinking about her.
How has she been dealing with all this so far? |

It's never good to see someone so young pass, but maybe God had a plan. Ended her suffering on Earth, and provided for her daughter.
Still keeping you and your family in my thoughts.

I was throwing away about $800 / month to the ex for her car payment and alimony ... and then add on $720 / month for daycare for our daughter and i wasn't getting a dime from her.
now i pay about $300 / month for latchkey at her kindergarten ..
no more alimony ..
no more car ..
12.5% raise..
and this survivor benefits ..
there's about an extra $2500 / month to play with .. wow when you add all of it up!
i'm at least going to start putting the survivor benefits aside for her college.

We've been able to put aside enough that our daughters MAY just graduate without having to take out any loans at all. Too many students graduate with crippling levels of debt.
You're a good dad to plan ahead by doing this. |
