The what beer are you drinking (and or rating) thread.
Following suggestions in the old thread, here is part 2.
Tonight I found a store that sells individual bottles so I picked up:
As well as Flying Dog Hefeweizen and India Pale Ale.
And still in the fridge I have Flying Dog Raging B**** and Goose Island

I'm having the very sweet Ska Brewing Nefarious Ten Pin imperial porter right now.

It seems that in every six pack I buy, two will be great, three will be okay, and one will be pretty bad. |

My Belgian saison won 2nd place in the French-Belgian category at a local homebrew competition. Not bad. No points for my Russian imperial stout, although it was only 2 weeks into bottle conditioning and I rushed it a bit to get it to appropriate carbonation in time for the competition. |

It's been 2 weeks now and I still have that blasted sinus thing going on that I mentioned in part 1 of this thread, and I can't taste or smell a thing. I was standing next to a fire today (neighbor was burning brush), smoke billowing in my face and couldn't even smell that! So, since I can't taste or smell I'm just sucking down a Yuengling Lager. Meanwhile that Chatoe Rogue Black Lager and Weihenstephaner Korbinian in the fridge continue to mock me.... |

Also had a Guinness Foreign Extra Stout the other night. Definetly better than a Guinness as it just had more flavor and bite in the hops and malt departments, and it was nice and strong too at 7.5%. |

Does this count?...
I also did pick up a six pack of Heineken. I decided to not venture outside the box. |

I had it on tap a while back and when I saw it on sale (April is craft beer month at Binny's locations in Chicago) I had to get it.
Last night I had two new-to-me Bear Republic beers, their Big Bear Black Stout and Hop Rod Rye. The stout was okay but the rye was a great variation on an IPA.

So, I popped open the Ayinger Altbairisch Dunkel and am enjoying it now. May do the Korbinian tomorrow, haven't decided yet; got a long day of yard work ahead. |

Sam Adams Boston Lager - Meh. The flavor is weak, and yet super hoppy. I wouldn't buy it again.
1554 Belgium Black Ale - I enjoyed this. There's a slight coffee flavor, but it's very smooth and clean tasting.
Magic Hat #9 - A unique but solid brew. I like it, but can understand others finding it kinda funky.
Tap Room Amber - This one was a bit of an enigma to me. It wasn't bad as a darker amber beer, but it didn't scream 'buy me again' either. I'd like to try this on tap before I judge it.
St. Paul - It's a pale lager, that's for sure. If that's your thing then it's pretty good, but if you're a fan of darker brews then I'd skip it.
Purple Haze - My friend said it tasted fruity. Honestly, I couldn't taste it much at all thanks to my sinuses acting up. It tasted like a very smooth, but fizzy glass of water. I'd buy it again though, cuz it wasn't bad at all. |

Worth drinking? |
