My mother couldn't cook. I had no idea meatloaf wasn't a form of torture until I met my wife.

Her Lasagna is killer. Weird, coming from a Slovak woman.

My mom makes a good triple-layered salad and chicken a la king among other things. She learned alot from her mother, a great cook. I'm torn between the two when deciding who cooks better, so it depends on whoever is in the room at the time.

As far as I know, this is a secret recipe. But I'm gonna reveal it to you.
I haven't seen or heard of anyone else making it.

It's a green salad, with penne pasta on top, with a ranch dressing sauce, bacon, fetta cheese and olives. It's SOOOO GOOD.
But the secret ingredient... mango. Mango cheeks on the side, both for decoration and taste.

Seriously, it sounds weird. But it's the best food ever, and my mum is the only one I know who makes it.

That's sad. I honestly can't remember. I do know that I liked most everything she ever made. (I've never been what you'd call svelte.) She's been gone for 20 years, and honestly, nothing specific comes to mind as far as what she used to cook.

Huh.......

my dad is the main cook in the family... being arabic, he can cook some real hot middle eastern dishes.

he makes the nicest rice in the planet - saffron, pits of fried potato, minced beef, fried egg... the rice itself could constitute a meal yaknow...

and then my mum always made the jhal frezi to go with. sorta cute I spose

Lots of things - but my personal favourite is Roast Potatoes with Sunday Lunch - no other Roast Poatatoes taste so good!
