What is the best self defense product?

Sign in to disble this ad
My girlfriend wants to buy a taser and i told her its probably not the best thing, because you actually have to be close to your attacker to use it. What would be the best self defense product for her to carry around? I might wana get something too, i get university emails of crime, and a lot of the times they are close to my street.

I really like handguns, but only as a hobby. I don't see them as a good home or self defense option as they can easily be turned on you. You have to have be really responsible with them which includes locking them up so they can't be stolen and used to commit a crime. That alone kind of negates the home/self defense premise.

Carry what ever you want but IMHO situational awareness is the key to staying out of trouble.

Common sense.

I wish they sold that somewhere. I'm shocked at how many people are out of it..

Nuclear weapons..they've held entire nations at bay for 60-something years now. You just cant go wrong.

Or just some pepper spray.

one thing that works is just running away... or if you want to be a ass, run and get them to chase you and when they stop and are huffin and puffin, go back and give them a good kick to their ballsack.

Actually, I thought about that scene during Oktoberfest from The Pink Panther Strikes Again.

I seem to remember the last thread about this. I think hiding behind the locked door ended up being the most popular

Ahhhhhhh the pepper spray fans. I need to find those training videos. It's less that useless. No........ It's worse than useless. You might as well just spray yourself and give the bad guy your wallet. Same thing with a tazer. Carry both, spray your face and tazer your arse, THEN hand your wallet over

Pretty much. Avoid hot spots and you don't need to worry nearly as much.

I'd rather have a shoe with a built in phone like Maxwell Smart. That way, when your laying in the alley with the **** kicked out of you....... you could call the ambulance.
