Did you delete the original thread and start this one again?

Anyways, I like the Calcutta Cup. A good game each year, always pretty interesting stuff when playing the auld enemy

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Calcutta_Cup

It was made by melting down the silver rupies that the Calcutta rugby club had left, just before they disbanded .

**** Ahh, you made it a poll now ****

The Olympic Gold pretty much takes it all. It says you're better than everyone in the WORLD. Not to mention the international recognition of the item. Not everyone can look at a fancy football on a stand and know the significance of the event it represents. The gold medal means something to anyone from a 3 year old Latvian to an 82 year old Canadian.

At one time, not all that long ago, you had just one to choose from as well, the first one is always the best one too, isn't it?

No way. That trophy is sweet. I especially like the green bands around the bottom.

That's why I said the gold as well. My next choice would be the World Cup, like you said the world things mean more. Who cares if you're the best in a country when you can be best in the world.

The history of the Stanley Cup is quite interesting. It's been battered, lost, abused and otherwise maltreated so many times.
