hey, im having trouble remembering the name of this book i read in high school, i dont really NEED the answer, but its been poking at the back of my brain for a few days now and im having no luck
i dont remember the author, i thought it was steinbeck, but upon inspection of his bookography, i dont think it is.
its set around one of the world wars, i think right in the aftermath of the second one, but im not sure.
anyway, there are two main characters, and the story is told in first person from one of them. the two young men go to school together, im pretty sure either boarding school or college, and basically the whole story is the boring tale of how the narrator wishes he was as confident, athletic, and talented as the other one. i know if i hear the name of the book i will remember, but nothing has worked to jog my memory thus far.
i know somebody in here has read this book, and hopefully you remember the name, because its driving me crazy!
