What cable do you use to hook your iPod or portable CD player to your board?

We have been using this cable my bandmate had lying around, and it may be causing suckage. It's 1/8'' plug (on the player side into (2) 1/4'' inputs. You have to use 2 channels of the board to get the complete signal. What can I use that will do that with one channel?

Doesn't your board have at least one pair of RCA jacks for stereo input?
If so, use a cable like this:

You know, I don't know if my board (older Mackie CR 1604) has a CD input.

Yea, what warnergt said. I use a $5 one I got at Walmart by belkin I think. Works fine.

Edit: If it doesn't have a stereo RCA input, get an Aux cable and an 1/8th inch to 1/4 inch stereo adapter and plug that into one of the 1/4 inch inputs on your board.
