some of these kids have no respect. they dont agree with my political or religious views and they think that i am foolish for believing what i believe. i wish they would just get off my lawn.

I suppose next we'll see an I HAVE LIBERAL PARENTS thread. "Help! My parents are totally liberal and they are forcing me to stop believing in God and quit getting haircuts and taking baths. And they're trying to get me to like Marilyn Manson."

And then to complete the square, there will be an I HAVE CONSERVATIVE CHILDREN thread. "What do I do? My kids are spending their time listening to Stryper while doing their homework and they go to church at least once a week."

Longer standing members will likely disagree with this assessment, but simply based on my two years or so here, I'd have to say that Off-Topic Jumped The Shark about a month or two ago when parody threads became increasingly prevalent.

Well, back to Effects I go. . .

Bah! You could abandon the shores of the Sea of Sameness, or you could set sail aboard the SS No One Has Any Idea What I'm Talking About. I chose the latter, my friend, but I respect your decision, land lubber.

My ex-fiance once told me that it was easy to tell whether I was enjoying myself at a party. She said that when I was having a good time, I would say things to make everyone laugh. And when I was having a bad time I would say things that only about 0.5% of the general population would find as funny as I did.

Maybe you're right and OT is just becoming that kind of party. And if it's gonna be that kind of party, I'm gonna stick my **** in the mashed potatoes.

Agreed,
because the new breed
is a lame lot, indeed.

Ever watch the MTV show where they try to find their kid a new boyfriend or girl friend?

Those kids are the rudest ill mannered kids ever. I would never put up with the way they talk to the parents. Of coarse it's probably all staged anyway.

ah, I see you are relatively new here. This is a parody thread (a parody of my "parent" thread), a trend started I think by Nino Valenti, which has recently reached unprecedented proportions.
